‘Beetlejuice!’ Lauren Boebert Heckled By Protesters Outside Trump’s NY Trial

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) was heckled by protesters outside Donald Trump’s New York criminal trial while she gave a statement defending the former president.
The Colorado lawmaker attended the court proceedings alongside several other Republican representatives Thursday, including Reps. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) and Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ).
Boebert gave her remarks outside the courthouse after other Republicans finished speaking at the podium. She accused the New York prosecution of being unable to name what crime Trump committed.
“And I want all of the news to start asking the question, ‘What is the crime?’ Because everyone in this court has not been informed of what the crime is. The defendant does not know the crime that was committed,” claimed Boebert, despite the charges against Trump being made public.
Throughout her statement, hecklers shouted down Boebert with protesters yelling “Beetlejuice,” referring to an incident in Colorado where Boebert was kicked out of the musical in September due to inappropriate behavior, vaping, and photography.
At the time, CCTV showed Boebert and a male companion getting inappropriately handsy during a performance of the musical before being removed from the theater.

One protester could be seen mocking Boebert by holding a playbill of the Beetlejuice musical in front of her as she made her Thursday afternoon speech. The individual reportedly asked Boebert to autograph the playbill.

Other GOP allies of Trump who attended the court proceedings on Thursday echoed Boebert’s criticism of the prosecution by defending the Republican frontrunner. Trump faces criminal charges for allegedly falsifying business documents regarding hush money payments during the 2016 election season.
