Elon Musk’s Dad Says Tesla CEO ‘Suffering From a Bit of PTSD’ After Working With Trump

Elon Musk is “suffering from a bit of PTSD” after his five‑month stint in the Trump administration, his father Errol Musk claimed on Sunday.

The elder Musk told Moscow-based Tsargrad TV, according to a report by The Sun, that his son made a mistake when he put his resources into getting President Donald Trump elected last November.

Speaking at an event in Moscow, Errol said Elon is “tired” and “stressed,” and that his time as a White House adviser took a psychological toll.

“They are all suffering from a bit of PTSD, a post‑traumatic stress disorder over the last few months,” he said.

Errol Musk categorized his son’s time with DOGE after a nearly $300 million investment in Trump as a “turbulent five‑month stint” that was not unlike a strained marriage.

“So at the moment, Elon is inclined to say that he’s made a mistake,” Errol said. “Trump will prevail. He’s the president, he was elected as the president.”

The elder Musk made similar comments about how Trump would fare in the feud with his son last week.

In an interview with Al Arabiya English’s Global News Today, Errol Musk said he had not spoken directly to Elon Musk about the spat but had urged him in a message to let ease tensions.

“I haven’t spoken to him, but I did send him a message, you know, telling him to make sure this fizzles out,” Musk told host Tom Burges Watson.

He was also asked about his son’s now-deleted X post linking Trump to deceased sexual predator and human trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

“I have no idea. I don’t know what he was thinking,” Errol said. “I think people lash out when they’re under stress. I can only imagine that’s just a silly mistake.”

According to The New York Times, Trump had been on the phone since Thursday’s blowup with Elon Musk, describing him as a “big time drug addict.”
