Trump Baselessly Rants Judge Merchan is ‘MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM AND ITS OUTCOME’

Former President Donald Trump took his campaign of belittling Judge Juan Merchan to a new level, alleging that the judge overseeing his hush money trial is profiting from it and its outcome. The former president failed to provide any evidence in support of his allegations of corruption, however.
In a social media message posted early Tuesday morning, Trump returned to his typical “WITCH HUNT” messaging and insistence that the case against him “SHOULD BE THROWN OUT NOW!!!” before asking why this case wasn’t brought seven years ago when he was serving as president.
The answer to that question is that the case was brought to trial six years ago against former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, who pled guilty to campaign finance violations (among other crimes) and served time in prison as a result. Many believe that since the then-president could not be indicted because of presidential immunity and was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator instead.
But the headline from his latest Truth Social post? His baseless claim about Merchan: “The problem is that this Judge, Merchan, is TOTALLY COMPROMISED, CONFLICTED, AND CORRUPT, MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM AND ITS OUTCOME.”
Trump wrote:
Virtually every Legal Analyst and Scholar said yesterday, at the end of the day, THAT THERE IS NO CASE, AND THAT THIS WITCH HUNT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN BROUGHT, AND SHOULD BE THROWN OUT NOW!!! WHY WASN’T THIS HOAX BROUGHT SEVEN YEARS AGO, INSTEAD OF IN THE MIDDLE OF MY WINNING CAMPAIGN FOR PRESIDENT — ELECTION INTERFERENCE. The problem is that this Judge, Merchan, is TOTALLY COMPROMISED, CONFLICTED, AND CORRUPT, MAKING BIG MONEY OFF OF THIS SCAM AND ITS OUTCOME. He can’t render a fair decision, too much is at stake for him and the Democrats. The Appellate Division should remove him immediately!
It’s not clear who reads these messages and is swayed by the ALL CAPS, but Trump apparently feels it’s the sort of flourish that helps his case. Recent polling data that shows him ahead of President Joe Biden in many swing states suggest that the ALL CAPS foray might be somewhat effective for many voters.
