WATCH: Josh Hawley Leaves Stage After Pro-Palestine Protestors Interrupt Conference

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) briefly walked off stage during a conference Wednesday when it was halted by pro-Palestinian protesters.

The event — hosted by Axios in Washington, D.C. — brought multiple lawmakers to discuss the current state of Congress and the 2026 midterm elections. As Hawley was interviewed with reporter Stef Kight, protesters suddenly began shouting from the audience.

“Josh Hawley cannot possibly care about people in this country,” one of the demonstrators said, “because he is supporting a war of starvation.”

Another voice off screen then joined in, prompting Kight to tell them, “Please allow us to do our job.”

Hawley asked if he was the first lawmaker to be disrupted by protesters that day, and Kight confirmed that was the case. When neither protester stopped yelling, Kight and Hawley walked off the stage. Kight then returned to deliver a message to the audience.

“We appreciate and understand that people feel passionately about some of these issues,” she began. “We do ask that you be respectful and allow us to continue our conversation. Please welcome back to the stage Sen. Josh Hawley.”

Hawley received a round of applause as he walked back on stage to continue the interview.

“Just another day in the Senate,” he joked.
