Fox News Primetime Guest Host Will Cain Sees Viewership Go Up in Tuesday Ratings

 

Fox News Primetime guest host Will Cain saw viewership numbers increase over his first appearance on the show Monday, more than doubling the total number of viewers who tuned into timeslot competitor Erin Burnett OutFront, according to data from Nielsen.

Cain, who didn’t pull punches in his first two nights as Primetime guest host, notched 1.68 million total viewers at 7 p.m. Tuesday, and 294,000 in the valuable demographic of viewers age 25-54 (his Monday debut saw 1.6 million total viewers and 282,000 in the demo). MSNBC’s The ReidOut was second for the hour in total viewers, with 1.24 million, and third in the demo, with 162,000. OutFront was third in total viewers, with 801,000, and second in the key demo, with 224,000.

Tucker Carlson Tonight remained the most-watched show in cable news on Tuesday, with 2.89 million total viewers, and 469,000 in the demo. The Five was second in total viewers, with 2.67 million, and fifth in the demo, with 306,000. Hannity was a very close third in total viewers, with 2.66 million, and second in the demo, with 434,000. The Rachel Maddow Show was fourth in total viewers, with 2.62 million, and third in the demo, with 377,000. The Ingraham Angle was fifth in total viewers on Tuesday, with 2.07 million, and fourth in the demo, with 366,000.

In total day viewership, Fox topped the competition with nearly 1.5 million total viewers, and 234,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second in total viewers, with 1.12 million, and third in the demo, with 142,000. CNN averaged the fewest viewers in total day, with 690,000, and was second in the demo, with 173,000.

Fox dominated in prime time, averaging 2.54 million total viewers, and 423,000 in the demo. MSNBC was second, with 2 million total viewers and 272,000 in the demo. CNN was third, with 899,000 total viewers and 213,000 in the demo.

In the early morning, Fox and Friends won with 1.16 million total viewers and 208,000 in the demo. MSNBC’s Morning Joe was second, with 948,000 total viewers, and third in the demo, with 115,000. CNN’s New Day, which featured a tense head-to-head between host Brianna Keilar and evangelical leader Franklin Graham, was third, with 510,000 total viewers, and second in the demo, with 126,000.
