Trump Bonked in Face With Microphone: ‘Did You See That?’

President Donald Trump got a face full of microphone on Friday as he spoke with reporters before boarding Air Force One.

Trump had just praised Sen. Minority Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who was one of 10 Senate Democrats to vote to advance a six-month Republican spending bill.

“I appreciate Senator Schumer, and I think he did the right thing,” the president said. “Really, I’m very impressed by that.”

A reporter then asked about the war in Gaza.

“You’re concerned about the situation in Gaza,” the reporter said. “What are the hopes now to get the hostages back?”

As she spoke, a microphone with a windscreen muff made a direct hit on Trump’s face. The president was visibly displeased by the intrusion.

“This is great television tonight,” Trump said, ignoring the question and acknowledging the rogue mic. “She just became a big story tonight. Right? Did you see that?”

He then doubled back to the reporter and asked her to repeat the question.

The awkward moment may not be the weirdest one involving Trump and a microphone over the last six months. During a presidential campaign rally, Trump made a pumping motion over a microphone stand while also making a gesture with his mouth.

“Wouldn’t it be interesting if it turned out he’s doing everything he can not to be president?” CNN’s Van Jones said at the time. “And he still winds up winning?! Because you can‘t tell me that fellating a microphone is in anybody‘s playbook for anything! Am I wrong?!”
