Ari Fleischer: While I Still Have Faith in Mueller, ‘Legitimate Reasons’ To Doubt The FBI
On Tuesday night, former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer expressed his concerns with the ongoing Russia investigation.
He began by saying the recent revelations regarding Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s investigative team is really “troubling” him.
“I say that as somebody who has regularly and continues to defend Bob Mueller, the individual, because I know him, I served with him, I find him to be a boy scout, a man of the utmost integrity who only wants to do the right thing,” Fleischer told Shannon Bream. “But he has a problem. And the FBI under Chris Wray now has a problem. America can never doubt the integrity of the FBI, but now we have legitimately to do so.”
The Fox News contributor slammed FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was removed from the investigation for sending anti-Trump text messages during the election, of “being so partisan” while having a major role in the Clinton email investigation and called out the hypocrisy of throwing the book at Gen. Michael Flynn for lying to the FBI and not doing the same for top Clinton aides Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin, who have reportedly lied about their knowledge of Hillary Clinton‘s private server.
“You do have to scratch your head and wonder what’s going on below the Mueller level,” Fleischer continued. “And it is not healthy for the country if legitimate questions are raised and are not answered. The FBI and Bob Mueller need to assure the American people that this is being done with integrity.”
