Behold the Look of Disgust on Mika Brzezinski’s Face While Interviewing Josh Earnest

Morning Joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski did not enjoy their interview yesterday with White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, in which Earnest said President Barack Obama had confidence in Secret Service Director Julia Pierson hours before she resigned. The displeasure was so palpable it could be read in Brzezinski’s facial expressions, which led Scarborough to give her the Worst Poker Face on Television Award. (See left.)

“People say, ‘Oh, Josh had to say what he had to say,'” Scarborough said. “He didn’t. There are thousand different ways to say that. You don’t have to be so indignant.”

“I don’t understand why he so vehemently defended Julia Pierson,” Brzezinski said, and asked for perspective from former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, who tried his best to defend Earnest. “Twenty-four hours ago, what is wrong with saying these were serious breaches, they are being taken seriously, and you can be sure this will never happen again’?”

Gibbs tried to argue that Earnest did say that. “No,” Brzezinski said. “No, he didn’t.”
