Bill Maher Slams Dems For Not ‘Having Balls’: They’re ‘to Political Courage What Velveeta is to Cheese’

Bill Maher had some tough words for Democrats during his Friday night show.

He began by demanding they “support the very important part of their coalition––other Democrats” and slammed Conor Lamb, who pulled off a narrow victory in the Pennsylvania special election, for publicly distancing himself from House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

“Nancy Pelosi was never a scary radical and Democrats long ago made a horrible mistake in deciding that when Republicans called her that, they would just duck their heads and go along,” Maher said. “What Nancy Pelosi did was pass the stimulus that averted a depression, passed the very best version of a health care bill this country has ever had, passed Wall Street reform after the Great Recession, and the bill that saved the auto industry, passed the Fair Pay Act – these are things to brag about, not distance yourselves from.”

Maher urged Democrats to learn a lesson from President Trump that voters “don’t care how smart you are” and “just don’t be a p*ssy.”

He then called out Hillary Clinton for “back-peddling” her remarks on the coal industry during the 2016 election.

“STOP! You already lost! It wasn’t a misstatement, it was the truth!” Maher shouted. “Democrats are to political courage what Velveeta is to cheese.”

Maher accused Democrats of “being afraid to make the counterargument” to Republicans on things like defense spending and guns.

“So how about this, Democrats? Let’s create a brand new issue out of thin air just like the Republicans do and you can use it to practice having balls,” Maher said.
