Don Lemon Admits Some Pro-Trump Guests Don’t Believe What They Are Peddling On the Air

CNN Tonight host Don Lemon recently sat down with National Review’s Jamie Weinstein to talk about news in the age of Trump.

Appearing on the April 11th podcast of The Jamie Weinstein Show, Lemon spoke of a number of things during the far-reaching interview, including how CNN “started the panel shows” that are now a hallmark of cable news and how he does not really trust any conservative writers at this point.

“I don’t feel there is the authenticity that there used to be with conservative writers,” Lemon told Weinstein, adding he needs people to understand the challenges of women and African-Americans.

Then, at one point in the interview, Lemon even mused that even his pro-Trump conservative guests don’t believe their own Trump hype despite their Trump activism on the air.

When asked by Weinstein if sometimes CNN guests admit they don’t believe what they are saying, Lemon responded, “I won’t give names, but absolutely.”

Weinstein then asked why, if the pro-Trump guests weren’t being truthful, Lemon continued to have them on his show.

“Yeah, and they’ll say they are speaking for the Trump supporter who doesn’t have a voice,” Lemon responded, trying to explain the guests’ returns.

Lemon then admitted that while the Trump supporters were not exactly being completely honest, one of the main reasons they were asked to return to the show because is “hard — and it was harder in the beginning — to find someone in  support of Donald Trump to come on the air.”
