FBI Director Deletes Tweet Announcing Arrest Of Judge For Allegedly Helping Immigrant ‘Evade Arrest’
FBI Director Kash Patel announced on Friday morning via X that agents had arrested Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan for allegedly helping an undocumented immigrant “evade” federal agents — before he swiftly deleted the post.
According to the now-vanished statement, Dugan “intentionally misdirected federal agents away from” an immigrant they were actively pursuing.
Patel wrote:
Just NOW, the FBI arrested Judge Hannah Dugan out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin on charges of obstruction—after evidence of Judge Dugan obstructing an immigration arrest operation last week.
We believe Judge Dugan intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse, Eduardo Flores Ruiz, allowing the subject — an illegal alien- to evade arrest.
Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public.
We will have more to share soon. Excellent work @FBIMilwaukee.

The FBI has not issued a follow-up press release and, according to NBC News Legal Affairs Reporter Gary Grumbach, no court documents are available just yet.
Still, the arrest, and Patel’s choice to make — and then erase — the announcement on social media has ignited a media firestorm. Some experts, including CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem, are speculating that the wording of the statement may have been problematic:
Meanwhile U.S. Marshals Service spokesperson in Washington, D.C., Brady McCarron, in a separate statement that Dugan was arrested at about 8 a.m. (CDT) at the Milwaukee County Courthouse and is currently in federal custody.
The reported move comes as the Trump administration cracks down on so-called “sanctuary” behavior by local officials and as judiciary battles over President Donald Trump’s mass deportation policy.
