Fox News Host Argues Hunter Biden Is Trying to Seek ‘Attention’ and Play the ‘Ultimate Victim’ By Offering to Testify Publicly
Fox News host Emily Compagno argued that Hunter Biden’s offer to testify in public on his foreign business dealings being scrutinized by House Republicans is an effort to seek “attention” and portray himself as the “ultimate victim” on Outnumbered Tuesday.
Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell addressed a letter to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) on Tuesday explaining that his client was willing “to answer any pertinent and relevant question you or your colleagues might have,” but only in a public hearing that eschewed what he characterized as a “cloaked, one-sided process.”
“A public proceeding would prevent selective leaks, manipulated transcripts, doctored exhibits, or one-sided press statements,” asserted Lowell.
Comer responded to the letter by declaring that Biden was “trying to play by his own rules instead of following the rules required of everyone else.”
“We expect full cooperation with our subpoena for a deposition, but also agree that Hunter Biden should have opportunity to testify in a public setting at a future date,” he added.
Asked to comment on Biden’s offer, Compagno said she believed Biden was “seeking attention.”
“I think it is the continued seeking attention and the fact that he perceives himself as the ultimate victim,” she continued. “And I note as well, remember he wrote an op-ed, you know, crying out to the world crying out to the world to please have pity on him because of a certain habit that he had that millions of Americans have that don’t seem to excuse vile behavior.”
Compagno went on to comment on the reported tension between Biden’s legal team and his father’s White House.
“And we noticed this friction months ago, frankly, when this started. They [White House staffers] feel that it would best serve the president to have him [Hunter] fly under the radar and sort of keep it as low as possible, let the president focus on his duties or pretend to. But the reality is that Hunter has employed a fight fire with fire, which they feel is not only distracting, but also flying in the face of the White House because it’s a massive gesture of a lack of respect, in that there isn’t any tandem collaboration going on whatsoever,” she submitted. “So, I mean, I’ll enjoy the dumpster fire with some popcorn, but I would like to learn the truth.”
