Fox News’ Outnumbered Hits Trump For Iraq Trip: Troops ‘Deserve Way More Respect Than That’

Fox News’s Outnumbered criticized President Donald Trump‘s trip to visit U.S. troops in Iraq this week, with one host accusing him of using the event as a “campaign rally.”

Lisa Boothe first criticized the president for “ceding Syria to Iran and the Russians, as well as “prematurely” declaring victory over ISIS. Julie Banderas agreed, hitting Trump for “taking advice from murderous regimes.”

“The fact that Russia and Turkey, first of all, are supporting the United States and praising us for making a decision, there lies a huge problem,” Banderas said.

The Fox News anchor added that she took issue with Trump telling troops in Iraq that Americans are “not the suckers of the world” anymore.

“I would never consider us as a country, as the United States, suckers,” Banderas continued. “We have always led the fight in every single major war. Our military were men and women, I believe, deserve way more respect than that. What does that say to the families who have lost loved ones in wars prior to right now — Oh, so my son or daughter was a sucker when they were fighting for our freedom?”

“I would push back on that, I think it speaks to their bravery,” Kennedy said, arguing the president was referring to the U.S. “footing the bill” for the world.

Jessica Tarlov hit the president for using the trip to visit U.S. troops as a “campaign rally.”

Kennedy protested that “Trump always talks about the things he feels,” so he’s “consistent.”

James Freeman of the Wall Street Journal, Outnumbered’s “One Lucky Guy,” argued “there’s no way the military could have been insulted” because of Trump’s praise of them.

“[Trump’s] approval rating with the military is at 44%,” Tarlov pointed out. “While Jim Mattis’ is at 84%. Why is that? If he is the most beloved and the most supportive of the military out there, why is his approval rating under 50%?”

“Also, I think we can agree that when he is standing up there, and he’s talking about ‘This is your first pay raise you’ve gotten in ten years,’ which is a categorical lie,'” she continued. “These people own those paychecks, they know exactly what they are earning. Why is that productive to go out there and do that? And does that contribute to his low approval rating with the military?”
