Fox Panel Marvels at Trump’s Refusal to Name JD Vance His Heir: ‘You Notice How Many Times Trump Mentioned Rubio?’

A Fox News panel weighed in on President Donald Trump’s comments about who might succeed him as the leader of the MAGA movement and Republican Party on Monday’s edition of Outnumbered.

In an interview with NBC News’ Kristen Welker that went to air Sunday, Trump twice floated Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance when asked about his successor.

“I think that we have a tremendous group of people. We talked about a number of them. You look at Marco [Rubio], you look at JD Vance, who’s fantastic,” mused Trump.

“I don’t want to get involved in that. I think he’s [Vance] a fantastic, brilliant guy. Marco is great. There’s a lot of them that are great. I also see tremendous unity, but certainly you would say that somebody’s the VP, if that person is outstanding, I guess that person would have an advantage. But I think the other people would all stay in unbelievably high positions. But, you know, it could be that he’d be challenged by somebody. We have a lot of good people in this party,” added the president.

Kayleigh McEnany kicked off the conversation by submitting that Vance and Rubio are “both incredible strong messengers,” but come from different wings of the party before prompting Joey Jones to weigh in.

“Yeah, I think the real kind of underlying headline there was there is no heir apparent that President Trump has chosen. Just because JD Vance is his running mate doesn’t mean he’s going to hand a baton to him,” argued Jones.

Cheryl Casone concurred, asking her colleagues: “At that Meet the Press interview, did you notice how many times Donald Trump mentioned Marco Rubio?”

“He likes him a lot,” agreed McEnany.

“He really-, that really I thought was very telling in that interview,” added Casone.
