Fox’s Jesse Watters Suggests Air Collision Happened Because FAA Wanted To Hire ‘Dwarves’ and ‘People With Transgender Issues’

Fox News host Jesse Watters said Wednesday’s deadly midair collision between an American Airlines passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter may be the result of President Joe Biden allegedly trying to hire “dwarves” and transgender people. All 67 people aboard the two aircraft are presumed dead.

An investigation is underway to ascertain the causes(s) of the collision, which happened over the Potomac River near Reagan National Airport. Shortly after the crash occurred, President Donald Trump suggested the helicopter pilot or the air traffic controllers were to blame. The next day, he floated the idea that the tragedy happened because the Federal Aviation Administration employs too many people who are not White and come from marginalized communities.

Some co-hosts of The Five echoed this sentiment on Thursday’s show, particularly Watters.

“I can’t imagine what the families are going through right now,” he began, striking a condolatory note. “It’s just horrible.”

Watters went on to acknowledge reports of staffing shortages in the air traffic control tower in question, as one FAA report called the situation “not normal.” He then turned to Trump’s preferred culprit – diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives – which the president strongly suggested were at fault:

At the control tower, they’re supposed to have 30 [air traffic controllers] and they only had 19

The staffing shortages, Donald Trump is arguing, are a result of DEI policies. You go back to the Obama-Biden administration and they rejected 1,000 well-qualified applicants for air traffic control because they weren’t diverse enough. Joe Biden had a DEI quota.

And this isn’t about Black people. A lot of people hear, “DEI,” you think Black. No, he is trying to set quotas for people who are deaf to get jobs, people who are dwarves to get jobs, people with transgender issues to get jobs.

It’s not about race. It’s every sort of underprivileged person that has issues, and they want to be able to put these in positions at the FAA. They were unable to meet their own DEI quotas, and that’s what is leading to staffing shortages, among many other things. So, is it the main factor? We don’t know.

Watters concluded by saying, “We’re not gonna know until we have this investigation, and I just hope we get it really soon.”
