Fox’s Rachel Campos-Duffy Jokes About Violent Attack on Ex-Speaker’s Husband: ‘Maybe Paul Pelosi Needs the Hammer’
Fox News weekend host Rachel Campos-Duffy joked about the attack on Paul Pelosi that fractured his skull and put him in the hospital.
Appearing on Friday’s Jesse Watters Primetime, Campos-Duffy and guest host Pete Hegseth criticized some of those whom President Joe Biden awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom earlier in the day. Those honored included former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, former Vice President Al Gore, and former Secretary of State John Kerry.
Campos-Duffy offered a list of alternatives.
“So, I thought, America’s frat boys, they could use the Medal of Freedom,” she said. “Donald J. Trump, he never gives up on America. Elon Musk for absolutely caring about freedom of speech.”
She also suggested the award be given to Kid Rock and the U.S. Border Patrol.
“That’s a great list,” Hegseth replied. “But it’s probably more likely to go to Paul Pelosi, Susan Rice, and Gavin Newsom. So, I think your list is correct, but a little off-brand for Big Joe.”
“Well, maybe Paul Pelosi needs the hammer instead of the medal,” she responded.
“It’s metal,” Hegseth said while chucking. “We wish him well. We wish him well.”
In October 2022, Pelosi was attacked by a hammer-wielding intruder at his house in San Francisco. His wife, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, was not home at the time. Paul Pelosi was hospitalized with a fractured skull and underwent surgery to repair that wound and also “serious injuries to his right arm and hands.” He was released after six days. After the attack, a slew of right-wing media personalities baselessly speculated that Pelosi was attacked as part of a lovers’ quarrel. Fox News was a repeat offender.
