GOP Sen. Susan Collins Slams Comey: Why Would You ‘Write a Book in the Middle of an Investigation’?

Senator Susan Collins (R- ME) slammed former FBI Director James Comey this morning for his book.

On Meet the Press this morning, Chuck Todd asked about Comey and the advice Collins might give a “future FBI director.”

Collins said they should always follow protocols and guidelines, “which unfortunately James Comey did not do,” and her second piece of advice was “Don’t write a book in the middle of an investigation.”

Todd asked if she’s concerned Comey’s book is “disruptive” to the Mueller probe.

“That’s what worries me,” Collins responded. “I cannot imagine why an FBI Director would seek to essentially cash in on a book when the investigation is very much alive. He should have waited to do his memoir.”
