‘He’s a Well Respected Democrat’: Jeanine Pirro Goes to Bat For CNN’s Van Jones Over Biden Criticism
CNN political commentator Van Jones found some surprising praise on Wednesday evening from the pro-Trump co-hosts of Fox News’s The Five.
“If I were Biden, I would stay hidden,” Van Jones said during CNN’s Tuesday night coverage of the New Hampshire primary. “And I’ll tell you why: He doesn’t inspire confidence, and he’s not a great messenger for himself.”
In a segment about Joe Biden’s faults, anchor Martha MacCallum praised Jones as “very straightforward” and someone who “says what is on his mind.” MacCallum then repeated Jones’s criticism of Biden and noted how David Axelrod and former Biden White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield just nodded along as Jones spoke.
Later in the lengthy conversation slamming Biden, co-host Greg Gutfeld declared, “I think we’re building toward a scenario where Joe Biden will be seen as justified, not to debate Trump. Right now, we can’t give Trump’s evil ideas any traction. I mean, CNN and MSNBC have already done that.”
“Well, Trump will want to debate him. You can guarantee that,” MacCallum added.
“But, Trump didn’t show up for any of the debates,” hit back Jessica Tarlov.
“He didn’t have to,” said Gutfeld.
“Public appearances outside of a courthouse are not really meaningful,” jested Tarlov.
“And the strength and the vibe and the resilience that Van Jones talked about just shows,” added Judge Jeanine Pirro as the conversation continued.
“Van Jones loves to blow up Democrats,” interjected Tarlov.
“Oh, ok, so now we are going to criticize him,” shot back Pirro, adding, “He’s a well-respected Democrat.”
“How dare you, Jessica,” joked Gutfeld.
“I love that you love a Democrat,” replied Tarlov to Pirro.
“I love you in spite of what you think,” Pirro replied.
