Huckabee: Benghazi Hearing Went On Way Too Long, Helped Hillary
Mike Huckabee offered some gentle criticism of the Benghazi Select Committee today by saying they allowed their interrogation of Hillary Clinton to go on far too long.
Fox News’ Uma Pemmaraju asked Huckabee this afternoon if the Republicans on the committee missed an opportunity to press Clinton further on why she wasn’t straight with the American people on Benghazi.
Huckabee said if he ran the committee, he would have made it 90 minutes––not 11 hours––and would have tightened it up so that they only got to the “major points.”
By dragging it out so long, he said, they diluted the potential strong effect the hearing could have had.
And it ended up helping Clinton because, as Huckabee put it, all she had to do was endure the 11 hours and she “looked like she had weathered the storm.”
