Lindsey Graham Jokes About U.S. Response to Iran: ‘Don’t Underrate Killing Them All’
Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina — the lawmaker who never met a war he didn’t like — appeared on Fox News today to joke about committing a mass genocide against the Iranian people.
While appearing as “the one lucky guy” on the Fox News show Outnumbered, Graham facetiously endorsed the approach to handle issues with the Iran nuclear deal. His joke — or Freudian slip — came as a response to host Lisa Kennedy’s analysis of the deal.
“The arbitrary resistance of the president doesn’t really get us anywhere,” Kennedy said. “These are critical issues in Iran and North Korea — we can’t just have a hawkish kill em’ all approach.”
“Don’t underrate killing ’em all,” shot back Graham — while wearing a smile that resembled Ted Bundy’s famous gleam. “That gets everybody’s attention.”
He may have been kidding about the whole genocide thing, but Graham did use the air-time to promote a serious, bi-partisan proposal to fixing the supposedly damaged deal:
“If the Democrats will follow his lead and say the current deal is bad because the sunset clause is bad, that we should be able to inspect anywhere in Iran including their military bases, then we’ll have a united American front that will make the Europeans try harder to get a better deal. I would be willing to write a letter to the president if Chris [Coons] will write it with with me and [Mike] Pompeo saying: ‘Extend the negotiations passed May 12 and see if the European can get the deal that all of us say is better.'”
