Former Governor Mike Huckabee appeared on Fox & Friends this morning to defend President Trump’s time in office while describing him as “a kind of doctor who has sometimes a rather gruff bedside manner.”
Huckabee used the analogy to defend the things the President has done in office to keep America “alive” while Congress remains stagnant. Huckabee praised Trump for “creating a new environment with our foreign friends across the world,” for “repudiating regulations,” and for “creating a market where the stock market is sky high,” before noting Trump’s harsh tendencies:
“He can be crude and he can come across sometimes less than people think. But by golly the patient is alive, and I’d rather have this president, who gets things done than one who comes in and he’s nice and he smiles, but my family member dies in the hospital bed.”
Huckabee finished his rant with a bold request: “America needs to say two words to Donald Trump: ‘Thank you.’”
Governor Huckabee acknowledged what he said was controversial as he took to Twitter beforehand to say this:
Hurry to your TV! About to be on @foxandfriends. What I say will melt snowflakes and have them running for the Playdough!

This is not the first time he has used some unorthodox analogies, as he often fills his Twitter with some more offbeat statements:
For Cinco de Mayo I will drink an entire jar of hot salsa and watch old Speedy Gonzales cartoons and speak Spanish all day. Happy CdMayo!
