Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) is not buying this whole “the president can pardon himself” argument.
So convinced is he that he told CNN’s Manu Raju that “if I were President of the United States and I had a lawyer that told me I could pardon myself, I think I would hire a new lawyer.”
President Donald Trump‘s lawyer Rudy Giuliani said on Sunday that the president can pardon himself, and Trump doubled down on the idea by saying that even though he “has the absolute right” to pardon himself, he wouldn’t because he hasn’t done anything wrong.
As has been stated by numerous legal scholars, I have the absolute right to PARDON myself, but why would I do that when I have done nothing wrong? In the meantime, the never ending Witch Hunt, led by 13 very Angry and Conflicted Democrats (& others) continues into the mid-terms!

People have been debating the question of whether Trump can pardon himself all weekend. The idea first came into the public discourse when a confidential memo from Trump’s legal team to special counsel Robert Mueller was made public by The New York Times Saturday. Law professor Jonathan Turley suggested on Morning Joe Monday that the pursuit of this legal strategy indicates that the Trump legal team knows “they’re going to lose.”
