‘The Candidate Is Joe Biden!’ Sunny Hostin THROWS DOWN With Alyssa Farah Griffin In Heated Debate On The View About Replacing Biden

The panel of ABC’s The View wound themselves into knots Tuesday over the upcoming general election, in particular co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin.

Farah Griffin, who used to work for former President Donald Trump and has become an outspoken critic, has publicly expressed that she does not want him to be president again. However, she also doesn’t want to support President Joe Biden and thinks the Democrats should replace him.

But she doesn’t have an answer as to who that should be, which led every co-host to jump:

Farah Griffin: [Y]ou guys ask me all the time, “Well, you can’t support Trump.” I will not support Trump. “But why aren’t you just backing Biden?” I’m worried Biden is going to lose to Trump. I don’t feel like–

Joy Behar: Not if people like you don’t vote for him!

Farah Griffin: I don’t think that we’re recognizing in 2020, when he beat Donald Trump, a potato could have beat Donald Trump. We were in a global pandemic, the economy was in freefall–

Whoopi Goldberg: But you know what? A potato could not have beat him–

Hostin: Millions of people voted for him.

Goldberg: –and I’m going to tell you why, because the one thing that Joe Biden knows is he knows how to run a government. He knows this. And there was nobody else in the pike. And and to come out and say, you know, “Get another candidate,” when?

Farah Griffin: Well, to be honest, it’s not going to happen.

Goldberg: So why, why, why even start the conversation?

After the panel named a few names who were not going to replace Biden, Hostin tried to break the loop of Farah Griffin’s circular argument:

Hostin: There isn’t going to be another candidate. The candidate is Joe Biden.

Goldberg: Yeah. So suck it up!

Hostin: He has run this country well. He has so much to run on. He’s got the better economy. Inflation is down. Job growth, more job growth than any other president in the past couple of decades. So he has a platform to run on. The Republicans have zero to run on. And the best candidate that the Republicans could come up with is Donald Trump.
