The Five‘s Jesse Watters: Criticizing Caravan Isn’t Racist, Mexicans Are Doing It Too

The Five held a conversation on Monday about the Central American migrant caravan heading towards the U.S. southern border, during which co-host Greg Gutfeld celebrated what he deemed to be a neglected “upside” — that the U.S. and Mexico agree on this issue.

The two nations’ opposition to the caravan has nothing to do with racism, according to Gutfeld. The opposition, rather, can be chalked up a natural desire for people to want their nation’s borders protected.

“It is human nature to desire a process, and order, and a border,” Gutfeld said. “And also, you do feel a sense of line cutting. Especially with something that is politically manufactured, like this caravan, for lack of another phrase. That’s why they call it an invasion because there isn’t really [another] name for it. The fact is it os human nature to be upset about this, and it’s not racist.”

Jesse Watters agreed, saying, “It’s not racist because these Mexicans are upset from Central Americans. They are the same race.”
