The View Blasts Michael Avenatti Months After He Co-Hosted Show: ‘Sleazebag’

Michael Avenatti was warmly received on The View months ago when he was still representing Stormy Daniels. But on Tuesday, the panel ripped the attorney amid his growing legal troubles.

Joy Behar expressed sadness over Avenatti’s arrest, saying that he helped Daniels go public with her story about Donald Trump, and now the president is likely to use his alleged embezzlement and extortion crimes to make himself look better.

Abby Huntsman said she also felt bad, but she explained that it was out of pity for Daniels since she was represented by “a sleazy con artist” when she had “an incredible story to tell.”

Sunny Hostin spelled out how badly Avenatti’s charges reflect on him as an attorney. And Meghan McCain noted the degree to which Avenatti was sensationalized by the media. This led to McCain bringing up a clip currently going viral on Twitter, in which she reacted to Avenatti with disgust during his last appearance on The View.

“I agree Stormy Daniels had an important story to tell. I liked her when she came on the show,” McCain said. “I didn’t understand why he was make so much money and she was forced to continue stripping at lower level, low-end strip clubs.”

McCain concluded that she was right to be skeptical of Avenatti, judging by Daniels’ rebuke her ex-lawyer.

Avenatti previously co-hosted The View back in August 2018. He also appeared on the show multiple other times — most notably by phone in September moments after his client, Julie Swetnick, came forward as a Brett Kavanaugh accuser.
