Trump Declares ‘We Have a President Who Doesn’t Know He’s Alive’ — While Promising To End Ukraine War Before He’s Actually in Office
Former President Donald Trump vowed to end the Ukraine-Russia war before he would officially take office after a November win while accusing President Joe Biden of being incognito since dropping his reelection campaign.
During Tuesday’s ABC News debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump claimed if he were president, Russia would not have invaded Ukraine and Hamas would not have attacked Israel, echoing a belief he’s pushed in the past. He boasted on Tuesday that he would end the Ukraine war so easily that it would happen before he’s even officially president.
“That is a war that is dying to be settled,” Trump said about Ukraine and Russia. Russia invaded Ukraine in February of 2022.
Harris claimed if Trump were still in office, Russian President Vladimir Putin would be in Ukraine’s capital today. Trump argued Biden “doesn’t know how to talk” to Putin” and he could end the war as a president-elect.
“I will get it settled before I even become president. If I win, when I’m president-elect, what I’ll do is I’ll speak to one, I’ll speak to the other, I’ll get them together. That war would have never happened and in fact when I saw Putin after I left — unfortunately left because our country has gone to hell, but after I left, when I saw him building up soldiers — he did it after I left — I said, oh, he must be negotiating, it must be a good, strong point of negotiation, but it wasn’t because Biden had no idea how to talk to him,” he said.
Trump argued the situation in Ukraine and the ongoing war between Israel and the terror group Hamas could end in World War III. He also accused the president of not knowing “he’s alive.” Biden dropped his reelection campaign amid concerns about his age and stamina. He told the press on Tuesday he spoke to Harris shortly before the debate and he was confident in her.
“It could lead to World War War II. Don’t play yourself, David,” Trump told debate co-moderator David Muir. “World War III and we have a president that we don’t even know if he’s — where is our president? We don’t even know if he’s a president. They threw him out of a campaign like a dog. We don’t even know ‚ is he our president? But we have a president that doesn’t know he’s alive.”
