Trump Jokingly Proposes Deporting Drug Dealers to NATO Secretary General’s Home Country During White House Meeting

Presdient Donald Trump jokingly proposed deporting drug dealers to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s native country on Thursday as the pair spoke to reporters from the White House.

Trump told Rutte he would have no issue sending “some nice people to the Netherlands” during talks about strengthening the alliance and about NATO members paying a higher percentage of their GDP.

The president’s comment elicited a laugh from Rutte before Trump shifted topics.

Trump was sitting next to Rutte when a reporter from Just the News asked him if the Biden administration had doctored immigration numbers to mislead the public about the problem at the border.

“They gave phony numbers, and phony numbers are a very bad thing to give, but I’m not sure about that,” Trump said. ” We want to get it straightened out.” When referring to illegal migrant criminals, Trump added:

We’re after many, many bad people that were let into our country. And Kristi Noem and and my friend Homan. How good is Tom Homan doing? Right. And they’re after him, and they, I mean, you see them taking them out in record numbers. Gang members, gang leaders, drug dealers.

Trump then turned to Rutte and jokingly suggested deporting some migrant criminals to the Netherlands.

“There’s a problem the Netherlands does not have,” he said. “The Netherlands never had this problem. If you’d like to take that off – I could deliver some nice people to the Netherlands.”

Rutte laughed and replied, “I’m not sure.”

NATO’s top official visited Washington as Trump has attacked alliance members and questioned the viability of NATO itself amid his complaints that the US is paying too much for the defense of Europe.

Rutte served as the prime minister of the Netherlands during Trump’s first term. He became the 14th secretary general of NATO last October.
