Trump Quotes Chris Wallace on Twitter to Slam Sen. Bill Nelson: ‘Empty Figure in Washington’
President Donald Trump was clearly watching Fox News’ Outnumbered this afternoon, and he touted a quote from anchor Chris Wallace to slam Sen. Bill Nelson (D- FL).
During a discussion about the Florida races, Wallace said this about the Senate race between Nelson and Governor Rick Scott:
“I’m a little surprised that Scott is having so much trouble with him, because––how do I say this nicely––uh, Bill Nelson’s kind of an empty figure in Washington. You never hear his name, he’s never in debates on key issues. He just is sort of under the radar. May be working in Florida, but in the national scene it doesn’t.”
And Trump tweeted part of what he said:
“Bill Nelson is kind of an empty figure in Washington. You never hear his name, he’s never in debates on key issues – he is just under the radar.” Chris Wallace on @FoxNews In other words, Nelson is a “stiff.”
