Laura Ingraham Considering Senate Run Against Tim Kaine
Coming off of his unsuccessful bid as Hillary Clinton‘s running mate, United States Senator Tim Kaine (D-Virginia) may have an interesting new challenger when he runs for reelection next year. The Washington Examiner is reporting that according to “knowledgable sources,” long time conservative talk radio personality Laura Ingraham is being approached about a run opposite Kaine and is “considering it.” In addition, according to domain name registration records, Peter Anthony, Ingraham’s business partner, has registered domains for a potential campaign, including:
Ingraham2018.com, IngrahamSenate.com, and
IngrahamForVirginia.com.
Ingraham did not respond to the Examiner’s request for comment.
The Republican primary for that election could end up being a pretty busy one. Two sitting members of the United States House of Representatives from Virginia, Barbara Comstock and Dave Brat, are reportedly in the mix, as is Carly Fiorina.
UPDATE – Tuesday 9:42 a.m. EST: Ingraham confirmed on Fox & Friends that she is thinking about making a run for the Senate.
