Watch Lanny Davis Awkwardly Ask Megyn Kelly How She Felt About Donald Trump’s Insults

Lanny Davis probably thought he had a point when he began asking Megyn Kelly a long, rambling question during Tuesday night’s post-Vice Presidential debate analysis. But by the end, surely even he must have realized that his query had all the coherence of a drunken wedding toast.

This must be enjoyed in both written and visual form. The full transcription is below. First, the video.

And here’s the transcription:

When I hear Megyn Kelly, who I respect greatly, who is the subject of vicious attacks by Donald Trump, with horrible use of words, and we hear Governor Pence constantly say insults about Hillary Clinton, when facts about Donald Trump are called insults, I’d like to really ask Megyn Kelly whether you felt a certain sense of satisfaction that all the insults hurled at you by Donald Trump are now being called insults, rather than Governor Pence decrying the kind of personal insults that he gave to Jeb Bush, to John Kasich, and even to you when you moderated the debate.

Who knows if Kelly even understood the question. But whether she did or not, she artfully brushed it aside.

“Well, the beauty of being the anchor is that I get to ask the questions and not answer them,” Kelly said, laughing. “But thank you for that, Lanny.”
