Another Bronx Zoo Runaway, This Time A Bright Peacock Is Roaming NYC
Just when you thought the New York City streets were safe and the Bronx Zoo finally knew where all their animals were, think again! A female peacock escaped the Bronx Zoo and repeated efforts to find it and return it home have proved unsuccessful.
Last March, the Bronx Zoo lost track of a cobra for six days. The brightly colored green peacock certainly isn’t as dangerous as the last runaway, but zoo officials are still hot on the trail. Nancy Clum, the zoo’s curator of ornithology said “I don’t know if she’s confused or adventurous,” but promised “we’ll get her eventually.”
