As Flynn Troubles Deepen, Trump Launches Furious Tweetstorm on Every Other Issue

Earlier today, CNN reported that former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn looks to have found himself in deeper and deeper trouble. The House Oversight Committee says it has obtained documents from the Department of Defense that show Flynn was warned from accepting foreign payments back in 2014. Meanwhile, the DoD’s inspector general has opened an investigation into Flynn.
So, considering that this news could cause further headaches for President Donald Trump and his administration as it relates to the Russia investigations, how did the president react?
By launching a Tweetstorm that covered just about every other subject, that’s how.
I want to help our miners while the Democrats are blocking their healthcare.

I promise to rebuild our military and secure our border. Democrats want to shut down the government. Politics!

What’s more important? Rebuilding our military – or bailing out insurance companies? Ask the Democrats.

Democrats jeopardizing the safety of our troops to bail out their donors from insurance companies. It is time to put #AmericaFirst??

Democrats used to support border security — now they want illegals to pour through our borders.

As families prepare for summer vacations in our National Parks – Democrats threaten to close them and shut down the government. Terrible!

CNN’s Jeremy Diamond says that Trump was spending time with kids at the White House, so these tweets were likely sent by someone else on the president’s behalf, having been dictated by Trump earlier.
Trump is w/ kids at the White House while these tweets going out. Likely answer: Trump dictated these to staff earlier & now being tweeted https://t.co/TB2s975GC2

One thing that should be noted here, too, is that while these tweets were being sent out, House Oversight Committee Ranking Member Elijah Cummings was holding a news conference where he stated that he didn’t understand why the White House was covering up for Flynn.
You can see video of him making that statement below, via CBS News.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the White House rejected a request by the committee to provide documents related to Flynn. This was in relation to House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz saying it appeared Flynn broke the law by accepting payments from Russian firms.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer was later pressed on this issue by reporters, stating that the White House didn’t have custodial possession of transition team documents and called the request “ridiculous.”
