Ben Carson Clarifies: ‘I Don’t Think Obamacare Is Worse Than 9/11’
Dr. Ben Carson got into hot water for comments he made about how Obamacare might actually be worse than 9/11. Well, in a statement put out this morning, Carson makes it unequivocally clear he does not actually believe that.
In the Daily Beast article about these remarks, Evan Gahr asks Carson, “You said Obamacare was the worst thing since slavery. Why do you think it was worse than 9/11?” Carson answered, “Because 9/11 is an isolated incident.” He did not directly answer a question about whether Obamacare or Osama bin Laden has “caused specific families more pain.”
In a statement put out today, Carson attempts to clear up the controversy.
I want to be clear and set the record straight:
I don’t think Obamacare is worse than 9/11. The two things aren’t comparable and I never intended to compare them.Let’s stop sidelining important issues and move forward with intelligent and open discussions on how to solve America’s problems for the sake and benefit of the American people.
