Ben Carson: U.S. Should ‘Find Another Way to Honor’ Harriet Tubman (Like the $2 Bill)

CavutoCarsonSpeaking to Neil Cavuto Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Ben Carson expressed his disappointment with the recently announced decision that the Treasury will replace President Andrew Jackson with abolitionist Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill.

“Andew Jackson was a tremendous Secretary,” he said, “I mean, a tremendous President.”

Carson asserted that Jackson was “the last president who actually balanced the federal budget.” (CNN said it is actually Bill Clinton.) Jackson was, in fact, the last president to eradicate the national debt, he noted. Jackson will most likely be moved to the back of the $20 rather than kicked off altogether.

The retired neurosurgeon and Trump surrogate said he “loved Harriet Tubman,” but assured Cavuto that “we can find another way to honor her. Maybe a two-dollar bill.” (Thomas Jefferson is currently on the two-dollar bill.)
