Bill Maher Dares GOP to Impeach Obama over Benghazi

Bill Maher thinks if Republicans really think Benghazi is so egregious, they should put their money where their mouth is and just impeach him already. Maher told Larry King this would, in theory, have the added advantage of riling up the liberal base.

Maher, previewing a bit for Friday’s Real Time, told King that Benghazi is nothing more than a “phony” scandal that’s only gotten this much attention because Republicans like to blame everything in the world on President Obama. He found it amusing how on some days, the GOP views Obama as a tyrant, and on others as a weak, incompetent leader.

Maher then brought up the issue of impeachment, and suggested the GOP should pursue it if they’re really this serious about getting to the bottom of Benghazi.

“I would like to challenge the Republicans. If Benghazi is as awful as they say it is, then isn’t it your obligation to impeach him? And that would be great, because that would fire up the left wing base. So I’d like to see the impeachment go forward. I’d like to see them put their money where their mouth is.”

Maher recently went after Republicans for being obsessed with this “dead hooker” of an issue.
