CNN’s Stelter Explains Curious, Quickly-Deleted Tweet About How ‘Wolf Is the Worst’
There’s nothing media reporters like more than drama and gossip, which made this instantly-deleted tweet from CNN’s Brian Stelter very curious indeed:

Stelter tweeted that out hours ago and quickly deleted it, but that didn’t stop everyone from wondering what the heck that was about.
Gawker took note of the tweet earlier, starting the speculation about what Stelter could have possibly meant about his colleague Wolf Blitzer and what particularly made him worthy of the Britta-level descriptor.
Stelter subsequently explained on Twitter what that was about:
@MikeIsaac @silviakillings @TimHerrera i accidentally tweeted something that someone wrote to me via DM. i'd copy-pasted it. massive fail.

@cushac thanks for updating with my DM fail explanation. personally, i liked your Dick Wolf theory. turns out actually I'M the worst.
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) June 26, 2015
@cushac nope. it was a DM convo; person had critiqued Wolf earlier, then complimented him; I was trying to point that out/win the dumb fight

Stelter elaborated in comments to The Washington Post:
A fail on multiple levels, actually, and I feel horrible that anyone now wrongly thinks that I don’t respect Wolf.
Though in another Twitter exchange, Stelter uttered the key takeaway here:
@evanmcmurry sometimes it's better not to tweet
