Despite Accounts to the Contrary, Manafort Claims They Didn’t Know What Cruz Would Do
Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort claimed this morning the Trump campaign didn’t know Ted Cruz wouldn’t endorse Trump.
ABC News’ Tom Llamas asked, “Why did you guys allow him to speak knowing he probably wasn’t gonna endorse Trump last night?
Manafort said, “We didn’t know he wasn’t gonna endorse Trump. That wasn’t the point.”

He insisted that Trump was okay with Cruz speaking without conditions.
Yeah, there’s just a few teeny, tiny little problems with that.
First, Cruz himself said this morning, “They saw my speech several hours before I gave it.”
Secondly, Donald Trump Jr. said today they knew this was coming.
Thirdly, after Cruz spoke last night and got booed, Trump himself TWEETED THAT HE KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN:
Wow, Ted Cruz got booed off the stage, didn't honor the pledge! I saw his speech two hours early but let him speak anyway. No big deal!

I mean, maybe don’t make this so easy a day after being busted for lying about something. Unless everyone else is lying…
