Giuliani on Chance Mueller Will Subpoena Trump: ‘I Think it’s 50/50’

Nearly 24 hours after claiming President Donald Trump was immune from being subpoenaed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, Rudy Giuliani said there was a pretty good chance it will happen anyway.
“I think it’s 50/50,” Giuliani, former New York City mayor-turned-Trump attorney, told ABC News. “But I got to prepare for that 50 percent.”
The network already confirmed this week that Mueller notified Trump’s legal team that he could be compelled by the special counsel to testify in front of a grand jury. However, in an interview Thursday, Giuliani didn’t seem too worried.
“We don’t hear anything, see anything, see any documents that contradict what we’ve said,” he told ABC News. “Some of the recollection is a little hazy because it came during a very busy period. But, I mean, on both sides it’s pretty clear. They may have a little differences here and there but nothing important.”
Giuliani also speculated that the FBI’s probe of another one of Trump’s personal attorneys, Michael Cohen, has fizzled out and that it was initially prompted by an assumption that rules were broken, which he asserts was not the case.
“I think the investigation with him [Cohen] largely fell apart, with the loss of the campaign finance possible violation which never existed in the first place, but they sure thought it did,” Giuliani said.
In an interview with Fox News Wednesday, he revealed that Trump reimbursed Cohen $130,000 for his payout to porn actress Stormy Daniels in order to ensure her silence on an affair she claims to have had with the president. Critical questions remain as to what the White House knew about the money and when, and whether this can be interpreted as a campaign contribution.
