Herman Cain: Impeaching President Obama Would Be ‘A Great Thing To Do’
POLITICO’s Elizabeth Titus reports Herman Cain has no objection to the idea of impeaching President Obama—in fact, he thinks it’d be “a great thing to do.” On a conference call Tuesday night with bloggers, Titus reports Cain was asked why Republicans can’t simply impeach Obama. Cain responded that it’s a matter of legislative politics. “It would be a great thing to do but because the Senate is controlled by Democrats we would never be able to get the Senate first to take up that action, because they simply don’t care what the American public thinks.”
Cain reportedly argued that “there are a number of things where a case could be made in order to impeach” Obama, a stance that POLITICO’s Alexander Burns calls “a fringe position.”
