Lindsey Graham On WH ‘Spin’: Americans Are “Tired Of This Crap”

video

Well, regardless of one’s position on the current state health care reform, there should be some joy in that its finally coming to an end, evidenced by the pitched rhetoric on both sides of the debate. Earlier today we saw WH Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confident claim of having the votes to pass a bill in the house. And now we see Senator Lindsey Graham present the yin to that yang during an interview with host Jake Tapper on This Week.

Seriously, I’d take him more seriously if he wouldn’t just throw out slogans. I’m sick of the “Pandora’s Box” and all the other random labels, just tell us you don’t like it and there’ll be issues if they use it.

  • shootfromthehip

ACTUALLY, Lindsey, you don’t speak for all Americans.

What I’m personally tired of is the outright lies by your party regarding health care.

    Leaving the politics aside…
    I don’t know what’s worse, Tapper’s “Clemson” or Graham’s “Massachusetts”.

  • sueNaustin

    I appreciate his salty language.

But but but, if they don’t use those slogans then how will they ever create all the fear and hatred that gets the right their funds? It would be like the left just saying “it’s right’ instead of talking about all the republican obstructionism. One way is straight and to the point, the other stirs up emotions.

Scott Brown only got elected because Coakley was a bad candidate and Scott was a great one. It had nothing to do with health care.

Graham is grasping at straws here.

And the well has been poisoned by the GOP long ago in terms of bipartisanship. Graham and the GOP will never work with Obama and have demonstrably proved as much (with very few exceptions) so far this year.

But, sure, Lindsay, go ahead and make threats.

The bill will still pass, and Americans will be better off as a result.

I’m sure you’ll still get millions from Wellpoint and Blue Cross for your re-election campaign. Don’t despair.

You sure have represented them well this year.

No, Lindsey doesn’t speak for ALL americans, just MOST. MOST Americans ARE tired of this CRAP

What we’re tired of is this closeted queen and his hissy fits! Just come out already! The wingnuts and teabaggers hate him only slightly less than they hate McCain. He might speak for the ignorant saltines but, he doesn’t speak for me!

Really? I’d say most Americans voted for Democrats and not Republicans. Need a refresher/reminder? Here ya go:

    2008 Election results:

    http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/

    Obaba = 66,882,230 (53%)

    McCain = 58,343,671 (46%)

Karl Rove said in 2004 that the American people gave GW Bush a “mandate” on the war with just 51% of the vote.

Well guess what–Obama got 53% of the vote and campaigned actively on health care reform.

Obama has a mandate given by the American people to reform health care, according to Karl Rove.

Why do you disagree with Karl Rove?

  • WaterLoo

Please stop insulting people’s intelligence with this twisted logic. You risk looking like a fool

Yes, most Americans believe, as we do, that real health-care reform is needed. And yes, certain proposals in the plan are supported by the public.

However, a solid majority of Americans opposes the massive health-reform plan. Four-fifths of those who oppose the plan strongly oppose it, according to Rasmussen polling this week, while only half of those who support the plan do so strongly. Many more Americans believe the legislation will worsen their health care, cost them more personally and add significantly to the national deficit.

The poll numbers though are over simplifying the true senario.

What is happening is that there are people on both sides who strongly disagree with the HCR bill. The left wanted a public option at minimum, the right wanted nothing drastic done. So you have the ideologues on both sides not favoring the bill for different reasons. The dems while they don’t approve of the bill, they will take it over no reform at all (which is exactly what would happen if we “started fresh”). As for everyone else who aren’t really paying attention? They don’t like the bill because they hear such vitriol in the news slamming the bill.

Also, Graham isn’t be honest here. The HCR bill isn’t going through reconciliation, that already passed the Senate and will be passed in the house through normal means. The reconciliation bill will not be 1/6th of the economy, it will be for tweaks. Now I understand that Graham doesn’t want health care reform, but that has already passed the senate. And to pretend that this will hinder bipartisanship, well I haven’t seen any of that from the majority of the republicans. There are only a handful who have been bipartisan.

  • The Real Royal King

Actually, I am pretty tired of Graham. During the 2008 campaign, Liebermann was a boil on McCain’s right cheek, Graham on his left cheek. I’d have hoped those had been lanced by now.

  • Nachi

But Lindsey is a big part of the “crap.” Soooo typical. Playing out his “life” in the abyss of Republiscum darkness. A major voice in that dissolute gang of right-wing thugs & predators. Forever riding the GOP ceitgeist. Yup.

Glenn Beck doesn’t like Graham. (White) Royal King and Beck agree!!
