McCaskill Favors Full SCOTUS Confirmation Hearing But Says She’s Not ‘Folding to Trump’

Senator Claire McCaskill got a bit of Twitter blowback for saying she favors a full confirmation process for President Trump‘s pick for the Supreme Court.
There are a lot of liberal activists who want Democrats to fight the Trump administration on whoever the Supreme Court nominee is and not relent.
So when McCaskill tweeted this out..
We should have a full confirmation hearing process and a vote on ANY nominee for the Supreme Court.

…some people weren’t happy:
@clairecmc I really hope that this is a scheduled tweet from 2016 that you forgot to delete.

@clairecmc We are going to primary the fuck out of you.

@clairecmc this is a stolen seat. No confirmation hearings were allowed by GOP for 1 year!

@clairecmc And, please, be sure to show the respect for any nominee the respect paid to Judge Garland. Oh, wait……

Thanks @clairecmc – now at least we have a better idea of which Dems would have cheerfully collaborated with Hitler https://t.co/fg6iTKH9jw

McCaskill clearly saw the responses she got and said this in response:
Filibuster = 60 votes procedurally.Different ways of saying the same thing.I support requiring a 60 vote margin for all Supreme Ct nominees
— Claire McCaskill (@clairecmc) January 31, 2017
Why would anyone think that because I support confirmation hearing &60 vote threshold for SupCt nominee that means I'm folding to Trump?
