Naive Much? Van Jones Explains How He Landed On A 9/11 Truther Petition
Van Jones — for months now only visible as a head on Glenn Beck’s chalkboard representing all the is evil, Maoist, and worst of all, progressive in Barack Obama’s administration — raised his actual head last night and addressed the rampant rumors that he is a 9/11 Truther after his name appeared on a Truther petition.
Jones did a rare interview with PBS’s Tavis Smiley last night during which he described his experience and subsequent (voluntary) resignation from the White House as “learning a tough lesson.” He also notes that actually believes that 9/11 was a “conspiracy…by al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden and nobody else.” Jones said his signature appeared on a 9/11 truther petition after he met some people at a conference who told him they “represent 9/11 families” and that they needed his help and Jones said “sure, whatever you want.”
“And then these people, I didn’t know what their agenda was, they went and put my name on some abhorrent crazy language, that they never showed me, I never saw, and it just sat there on his website for years. Somebody discovered it, and then boom.”
And then boom, Jones decided to resign instead of dragging the President down with him. Also? If this is actually how it happened than Jones may be the most naive person to walk the planet, and the White House vetters need to acquaint themselves with ye olde Google alert. Video below.
