National Enquirer: John Edwards To Be Indicted By Grand Jury

And now for a political corruption story that, by some miracle, does not involve any New York politicians. According to the Pulitzer Prize eligible National Enquirer a Federal grand jury is about to indict John Edwards: “‘John is terrified that he’s going to be indicted,’ a friend told The ENQUIRER.” Emphasis the Enquirer‘s. Also, Elizabeth may be helping to send him to jail, though they don’t actually provide detail on this front…and really, who could blame her if this happens to be true. From the Enquirer:

Edwards, the disgraced two-time Presidential loser, is being investigated by the feds, including the FBI and IRS, for possible campaign violations related to paying his mistress Rielle Hunter.

The grand jury has been meeting since April 2009, and insiders say an indictment is imminent….”While he believes he’s done nothing illegal in trying to hide his extramarital affair with Rielle and their daughter, he thinks the Feds are going to make an example of him.”

I really feel like the New York Times should consider ending their articles with such lively instructions…I bet they’d see a boost in print sales.

The National Enquirer is not really a great journalistic organization. It just looks that way, since the mainstream media hates to do investigative reporting on Democrats. This makes it easy for others, whether some college kid like James O’Keefe or the Enquirer, to break important stories. The Enquirer ought to get a Pulitzer just to send a message to the rest of the journalistic establishment that they have been caught out (again) for bias.

I’m not overly fond of the National Enquirer but they sure as heck scooped the sleazebag Edwards story. Good for them! If they would quit with the “Two Headed Woman is Pregnant by Space Aliens” garbage, they could become a great periodical.
