Shocking 9/11 Footage Shot From Helicopter Leaked Online

Video

A newly-released 17-minute video taken from an NYPD helicopter on September 11th, 2001 shows the events of that day from a new perspective.

The National Institute of Standards and Technology obtained the footage under the Freedom of Information Act as part of its investigation into the day’s harrowing events. The footage was then sent to Cryptome, a site which describes itself as a platform that welcomes “documents for publication that are prohibited by governments worldwide, in particular material on freedom of expression, privacy, cryptology, dual-use technologies, national security, intelligence, and secret governance – open, secret and classified documents – but not limited to those.”

    Bush did it.

A little convenient that this footage is ‘leaked’ 11 years later when there are movements all over the world that are dismantling the fear mongering started by this event. People aren’t afraid of Muslims anymore? Well we need to find more 9/11 footage. How else can we get our populations to submit to all the monitoring we do? And what about all that fancy new stuff we just got for airport screening? People won’t submit to all of that once they realize Al Qaeda is used as the bogeyman over there too!
By the way, it has been 11 years, anyone caught him yet? Or is it better for our governments if no one does?

Catch whom? OBL was a CIA asset and has been dead for years, but don’t tell anyone we still need a boogeyman to fear.

Ha! You actually believe two 747s brought those towers down in that fashion? I’m sure you also believe the official gulf of Tonkin report as well.

I think it’s very difficult to know exactly what happened that day…but if you seriously believe that the events went down exactly how the media portrayed it…you are blind, or asleep, I don’t blame you though, I was in the same boat once…then I looked a bit closer

  • al19454

It was a terrible event and a very sobering moment for America. My question is, whats the point of the “leaked footage”? Am I supposed to go into fear mode? Should I be suspicious of people tha are darker then I am; maybe freak when I see dark people in sandals?

    Nice try but no cigar….

Agreed, maybe Bush didn’t do it I really don’t know but none of us know and that is the reason people speculate so much. The 911 Commission is a joke. These guys couldn’t fly planes especially with military precision. It is a sad joke, Rummy said the other day “what is Building 7″? They are horrible liars.

You looked a “bit closer”, but apparently not close enough to know that the two aircraft that impacted the World Trade Center building were NOT 747s, but 767.

    EPIC FAIL, douche-bag.

    HowdyRowdyDowdy–
No, child. It was two 767′s that hit the twin towers. I had just gotten off work across the street. What wrecked the towers was the full load of fuel both planes had. #7WTC was a fire-trap. Everybody in NYC knew it. The NYFD let the damned thing burn rather than going in and getting covered in PCB’s.

It’s old news, what are you gonna do? Nothing. It’s history and I’m sure we will get a slow stream of new footage as this heated topic grows older. Obviously not. When he got the news, he was so stunned, he couldn’t stop reading the bunny story. If his handlers hadn’t decided to get him out of there, he might have finished the book.

If I didn’t believe that 9/11 just wasn’t the perfect exploit of our system, I would point more to Cheney and the military industrial complex. What better way to start a profitable war.

Atta and his buds proved that the U.S. was a giant soft target, and gave Cheney the excuse to build a giant semi-secret bureaucracy, circumvent the Constitution, and make a little money for his boys in business.

For all of Homeland Security’s attempts at securing the border, we are still a giant soft target. We can’t stop truckloads and boatloads of drugs from being brought in. How can we expect to stop one little suitcase….

THAT is your response to this video? I didn’t see ANYTHING in the article saying this is important because Amercians died, yet YOU somehow feel the need to point out how many people have died in Mexico as a RESPONSE?

I think you have to be pretty cynical and have a lot of angst against the US to have this video elicit that type of feedback.

Not at all surprised to see the usual partisan bickering going on here. That is to be expected. What does surprise me is that everyone does not agree that the 9-11 Commission report was sadly lacking, which is the reason the partisan debate continues. Did the Bush administration orchestrate the attack? I haven’t seen enough evidence to buy that. Did they ignore or overlook a ton of warnings that an attack was coming? I have seen many convincing evidence they did. It is too bad the 9-11 Commission report was such a joke, because all we are really left with is speculation…and a long list of dead American citizens.

None whatsoever. Other than that all American desire to get a close-up shot of the dead gangster, the five car pile-up, the toddler in the well. You know the local TV news mantra, “If it bleeds, it leads.” It’s the fascination with demolition derby, with the NASCAR smash-up at 200mph, with watching two men roll and kick and punch each other and calling it “Ultimate Fighting”. It’s our way of life.

You people are so hung up on right vs. left it is really pathetic how bad you are being played. Clinton was a crook and a murderer and should have been impeached but so was Bush,
Ron Paul was right about Clinton when he said he agreed he should be impeached but not over Monica Lewinsky, he should have been impeached for bombing the hell out of the Sudan in his wag the dog moment, he should have been impeached for the inhumane sanctions against Iraq which killed over a hundred thousand women and children.

Bush should have been impeached for the same thing. You people are really stupid, you buy into this whole right vs. left paradigm when it is really us vs. them. Idiots.

That mythical suitcase nuke is a little harder to obtain than you might think. Everyone “knows” that the Russians were selling nukes/and or bomb material on the black market after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Most people were too dumb to figure out what some evil Russian KGB guy actually did. Hint, can you tell Uranium 238(useless for bombs) from plutonium? Most terrrorists couldn’t either. The Russians made up fake bombs using nuclear waste from their reactors, then sold them “secretly” to stupid terrorists for lots and lots of oil dollars. They then either arrested the terrorists before leaving Russia or betrayed them (for a small fee, of course) to Western intelligence agencies. It’s not like the terrorists had a money back guarantee….

By the way, the suitcase nuke is more myth than reality, since the person trying to carry it would likely die of radiation exposure before getting close to the target, if they could even pick it up. They are likely undeliverable in the real world. The soft target bit is true for every country, and HS is still a failure. Just not for nukes.

There are just a few things I find “shocking” about this video…

    1) they had the rigging on board to drop a couple guys on the roofs with bolt cutters and battery-operated sawzalls to clear the antennae so rescue choppers could’ve gotten the people trapped on the top floors off, but they were more interested in stopping in the park to pee.

    2) I wasted 17 minutes of my life watching this.

    3) you guys have spent numerous hours uselessly defending your inane tinfoil hat theories about the other party.

The facts are, both parties have voted to raid and spend (instead of investing) the excess SS funds continuously over the last 50 years and now want to cut seniors’ benefits (but not their own gold plated retirement packages), making it the biggest ponzi scheme in the history of the world.

SS and medicare should be wound down like any other ponzi scheme…
    a) deductions for FICA-SS and FICA-HI stop immediately.
    b) if you’ve drawn out what you put in, your SS/medicare benefits are done. Get a job – YOU are responsible for this mess by letting the politicians continuously steal the excess over the last 50 years, then re-electing them over and over. Nobody to blame but yourselves.
    c) widows and children that are already collecting continue drawing until death or age 18 (21, if still in school).
    d) everyone not already drawing gets refunds of what they’ve paid in.

But the matching funds from your employers over the years are just ‘disappeared’ – like the equity in your homes robbed by the wall street barons that combined junk-rated toxic assets into bonds, sprinkled them with fairy dust and made them investment grade, which they simultaneously sold both long and short, pocketing profits on both ends of the deal.

Tip: at least half the money you get from step D should be laddered in short term treasuries (don’t worry – interest rates will soon start going up to curb the double-digit inflation we’ll be seeing over the next few years).

The answer is yes. The tepid response of the Clinton administration to the bombing of embassies and attacking a US warship emboldened Bin Laden. The planning for the attack on the US was planned under Clinton’s watch and carried out under Bush’s. Bin Laden admitted his surprise that Bush came after him in Afghanistan because he assumed the US would continue the weak policies of Clinton.

I agree, however I think it was inevitable that Bin Laden would make the attempt. I think it could be argued their success against the Soviet Union – who didn’t care one bit what the world thought – plus the debacle of the 2000 election whiny-fest of the media and half the country calling Bush the devil and the other half calling Gore and his media supporters sore losers also contributed to Bin Laden’s confidence he could hit us with impunity. Heck, if he hit us tomorrow and dared set foot on us soil he’d be arrested by the FBI and given a civilian trial. With our current Justice Department and his money he’d be out faster than you can say OJ.

And, how were the past generations you are talking about be better informed than the group that just voted this present administration in? Using your analogy we wouldn’t have had any “bad” Presidents and their incompetent decisions. FDR was a great manipulator, and the people that kept re-electing him were naive and ill-informed.

Do you really think the folks that have been raiding SS broadcasted their intentions, actions? If you do, please tell who killed Kennedy. Since all is so transparent, this should be easy.
