Suicide Bomb Instructor Kills 22 Iraqi Miltants in Accidental Detonation

A suicide bomb instructor in Iraq killed twenty-two pupils and injured fifteen more when his demonstration accidentally exploded. Apparently the instructor used a belt he thought was disarmed, but that was in fact filled with explosives.

The class was attended by Sunni militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS, a group responsible for much of the violence in Northern Iraq and the Syrian civil war. Eight more militants were arrested attempting to flee the classroom.

An Iraqi Army officer did not identify the instructor, but did say he was a recruiter who was “able to kill the bad guys for once.”
