Will Ferrell Makes Strange Cameo On New York Times Weddings Page
There’s a special subset of New York Times readers who like to brighten up their Sundays with a little dose of wedding magic, flipping straight to the vows section in order to see some smiling newlywed faces. But today, there was an goofy and familiar mug starring back: Will Ferrell — gazing right at the reader from the behind the happy couple.
“Jessie Catherine Fuller and Peyton Brodnax DeWitt Rodgers were married Saturday at the Players in Manhattan,” the announcement begins. But it’s hard to keep reading with Ferrell looking at you. And what on earth is he doing there? Is this some kind of guerilla marketing for a new bromance? Not quite!
The bridegroom, 28, is known as Buck. He is a production assistant on the film “The Other Guys,” with Will Ferrell (who made a cameo appearance in the couple’s photo) and Mark Wahlberg, which is shooting in New York.
Ferrell is not mentioned again in the column, but it’s just like him to steal the spotlight, isn’t it? Though maybe his appearance is fitting: the couple did meet on the set of a film. Oh, New York City, how you alienate the rest of the world…
That said, I can’t wait to see where Altarcations goes with this one.
