Bill O’Reilly’s Dobbs Mentions Don’t Help in Ratings
Cable news ratings, July 29, 2009: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:
• Bill O’Reilly has been mentioning Lou Dobbs recently – a lot, and in pretty favorable ways. But so far, the 7pmET CNN host has not seen an O’Reilly Bump. Dobbs had the lowest ratings of any CNN program from 5pm-MidnightET, in both the A25-54 demographic and total viewers.
• Howard Dean‘s fill-in role on Countdown with Keith Olbermann went fairly smoothly. The 8pmET MSNBC program was top-rated in both categories. Will he be back the next time Olbermann heads to Cooperstown or elsewhere?
• O’Reilly’s FNC ratings were huge last night – he was the only FNC anchor to pass the 550,000 demo viewer mark, with a massive 805,000.
• In the race for #2 in prime time, CNN topped MSNBC in both categories. Although the date was July, this counts toward the August ratings race.
