CNN Is #2 In Prime Time Total Viewers With Fort Hood Coverage, Day 2

ratings

Cable news ratings, November 6, 2009: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:

• On Friday night, Fox News maintained a huge lead over its competition, beating CNN, MSNBC and HLN combined in total viewers. But sticking with total viewers in prime time, CNN got 2nd place. Could November (and the breaking news so far) propel CNN to a redemptive month? MSNBC was #2 in prime time in the A25-54 demographic, with CNN 3rd.

Bill O’Reilly had the top show, in on a rare Friday night, in both categories. #2 in both categories was Sean Hannity the hour later, and Glenn Beck’s fill-in, Judge Andrew Napolitano, was 3rd.

This is not surprising, CNN usually gets good ratings for “breaking news” coverage. If CNN had not finished at least 2nd that would have been surprising. Having said that, their coverage of the Ft. Hood massacre was over the top PC.

On Anderson’s show I heard a myriad of excuses for why Hasan committed these murders, everything from 2nd hand post traumatic stress syndrome to being “bullied” by fellow soldiers. A mention was even made of the fact that he didn’t have a wife. I guess they were trying to suggest that he may have been sexually frustrated.

Everything but the obvious: that he is a murderous radical Islamic terrorist who hates the U.S.

As usual, the PC extended to their blogs and even Anderson’s FB page, where comments like the one I made above were blocked or deleted from those sites. However, the comments of terrorist sympathizers were and are frequently posted on both the AC360 blog and Anderson’s FB page.

I guess that is their definition of objective journalism.

Karl Rove: ‘Fox News Is Fairer Than MSNBC’

    video

Karl Rove was on Meet The Press this morning, discussing Fox News' (where he is a political analyst) coverage of the Obama administration. Have they been as fair to the president as other networks? Even more so, claims the former senior adviser to George W. Bush, especially since some news networks "has opinion people...and those same people playing the part of your news delivery...which would not happen at Fox.” Guess which network he was talking about!

Lindsey Graham On WH ‘Spin’: Americans Are “Tired Of This Crap”

    video

Well, regardless of one's position on the current state health care reform, there should be some joy in that its finally coming to an end, evidenced by the pitched rhetoric on both sides of the debate. Earlier today we saw WH Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confident claim of having the votes to pass a bill in the house. And now we see Senator Lindsey Graham present the yin to that yang during an interview with host Jake Tapper on This Week.
