FLASHBACK: Fox News Reported 3 Sources Confirmed VP Biden Expected to Announce Candidacy
Two days before Vice President Joe Biden announced that he was not running for president, Fox News’ Ed Henry reported that he was probably running.
Three sources close to @VP telling me he’s expected to announce he is running but the sources are all urging caution on 48-hr timeline

Fox ran several segments based on Henry’s report. “He’s likely in,” Henry reported on America’s Newsroom Tuesday. “There’s only one caveat, which is that he’s still not made a final decision according to my sources.”
“I’ve got three sources close to the vice president how are saying in meetings and phone calls, he has said he’s likely to get in. The timetable I’m hearing is over the course of the next month,” he continued.
Other political observers who screwed up include Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol, who said Biden was “almost certain to run.” Meanwhile, MSNBC inaccurately reported that the Biden decision would come on Monday or Tuesday.
CNN’s Dana Bash’s tweet on a potential Biden run was a bit vague but hinted at a run:
A source familiar with the process tells me Biden associates are setting up interviews for potential campaign staff positions

New York Magazine’s Gabriel Sherman also…wrong:
Hearing more out of Bidenworld that announcement that he's in race could leak out Sunday or Monday…

At least Democratic Congressman Brendan Boyle, who falsely predicted a Biden run, owned up to his mistake.
I’m surprised. Clearly something changed. Like many, I admire & respect VP Biden. In the meantime I’ll stick to my day job!
