Huckabee: ‘SCOTUS Can’t Overrule God’ on Gay Marriage
Former Fox News host and potential 2016 GOP candidate Mike Huckabee told the crowd at the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference this weekend that the Supreme Court could not overturn god on same-sex marriage.
“I respect the courts, but the Supreme Court is only that — the supreme of the courts,” he said. “It is not the supreme being. It cannot overrule God. When it comes to prayer, when it comes to life, and when it comes to the sanctity of marriage, the court cannot change what God has created.”

Last week SCOTUS heard oral arguments about whether same-sex marriage should be constitutionally protected right. Dozens of state bans on gay marriage have been overturned in the past two years, effectively legalizing the practice in a majority of the country.
Huckabee also defended religious businesses he felt were being targeted for not serving gay and lesbian couples.
“Somebody’s got to be willing to take on the institutions that challenge and threaten our ability to believe as we believe, because when religious liberty is lost, all liberty is lost,” he said.
